The Way of Life
My grandfather was a Baptist minister and in his later years had a radio segment on a local radio station. His segment was called “The Way of Life”. He recorded 15-minute sermons at home and took the reels to the radio station for airing. He was well known in our little town and I remember many days and nights when grandmother would answer the telephone and then quickly call him to pick up. Someone had found his number in the phone book and needed to talk out their problems.

He passed away when I was 10 years old, so I have few memories of him. But the memories I do have are very vivid. His legacy is being passed down through me now as I live my life and as I begin my journey with this blog. So, here’s what I believe my Papa would say if he were here today:
It is no accident that you have come to this page. You need to know that God has uniquely created you for this moment in time. There is not another human being like you with the influence you have in the world around you. God has a purpose for your life.
Here’s what the Holy Bible has to say:
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". Romans 3:23
We are all sinners by nature and by choice.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". Romans 6:23
We receive eternal life as a free gift!
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us". Romans 5:8
God demonstrated His love for us, even though we rejected Him.
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
Everyone means YOU! We have assurance of salvation from our sins through Jesus.
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved". Romans 10:9-10
If you are ready to follow Jesus and have your sins forgiven, pray your own prayer, or something like this: Lord, I confess that I am a sinner and that I need to be saved. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died on the cross, in my place, for payment of all I've ever done wrong. I turn away from my sin and I put my faith in the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ to cleanse me of all my sins and restore me into a right relationship with God. Amen.

Believing that if you prayed a prayer for salvation, you have been born again. You are starting with a clean slate, and you have entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

If you do not have a Bible, get one. Write down today’s date in it. This is a day of new beginnings for you. Being a Christian doesn't mean life won't be hard, but the peace that God offers will sustain you through every situation. It's a decision you will never regret.

Pray often. Prayer is simply talking to God like you would talk to a trusted friend.

Find a Bible believing church in your area to become a part of and a group of people who will come alongside you as you grow in this new journey as a Christian.

Lastly, I would love to know if you have taken these steps. I will celebrate with you and pray for you. It would be a true honor.
